In an age when sustainable development is buzz words, the TERI School of Advanced Studies (TERI SAS) holds the pride of place among higher education institutes specializing in the field of sustainable development in India. It enjoys the status as a Deemed to be University as   University Grants Commission (UGC).  The School started functioning from its green campus, located in Vasant-Kunj, New Delhi in 2008 and today offers fourteen Masters Programs and has nearly 200 Ph.D. students enrolled. It has started work on developing a new campus at Hyderabad, Telangana in southern India.

Research and Development

As a not-for-profit, independent research institute, it is recognized globally for its contribution to scientific and policy research in the realms of energy, environment, and sustainable development.

The objective of the TERI SAS is to build capacity around various themes of sustainable development adopting an inter-disciplinary approach and incorporating the most contemporary, research-based evidence into the curriculum. Since its inception, the TERI SAS has offered not just world-class education, but also an environment that enables its students to develop a fresh perspective in their subject areas.

TERI SAS imparts a world-class education with the help of six different departments and two centres:

• Centre for Post Graduate Legal Studies

TERI SAS has bagged many prestigious awards for its interdisciplinary approach in providing a world-class education with the help of a multidisciplinary curriculum.

Ranking and Recognition

In the prestigious and widely acclaimed educational ranking of Indian Institutional Ranking Framework (IIRF-2021), TERI at 17^th Rank in IIRF Deemed University Ranking 2021.
