Overview

The Teerthanker Mahaveer University is a private university which is situated in the Moradabad district of Uttar Pradesh and was established in 2008. It is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC). The university has a total of 14 colleges and offers more than 150 programs leading to undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral degrees in various specializations such as medical, engineering, paramedical, dental, nursing, law, fine arts, basic science, education, commerce, management, agriculture science, and many more.

The university has more than 10,000 students coming from different cultural backgrounds in India and abroad, which makes the campus culturally rich and the students get a chance to explore themselves in global environments. There are more than 800 faculty members, most of whom have doctoral degrees from top universities and have an exceptional set of knowledge along with experience in teaching, which helps students learn from the best in the field. The students finish their educational period with a lot of knowledge under their belts and later apply that in their professional careers.

The medical courses are one of the highlights of the university as they are practical based courses and the university organizes various seminars, webinars, workshops, and live training programs to impart the practical skills in the students. The hospital at the university has 800 bed capacity that is used by the students from the medical college to learn to work in critical real life situations. The campus of the university is spread over a huge area of more than 140 acres, which has all the facilities that are needed for the smooth functioning of the university. Teerthanker Mahaveer University is ranked 59th in all India and the 7th state university of Uttar Pradesh by the IIRF University Rankings 2023, among the top universities in India.

Course Highlights

The university offers a number of courses in various specializations. Some of them are mentioned below.

• The Medical College and Research Center offers courses like MBBS, MD, MS, and M.Sc in various specializations such as forensic medicine, pathology, microbiology, psychiatry, general surgery, community medicine, medical anatomy, biochemistry, and many more.
• The College of Pharmacy offers courses like B.Pharma, M.Pharma, and Ph.D in various specializations of pharmacy.
• The Faculty of Engineering offers courses like BCA, B.Sc, B.Tech, MCA, and M.Tech in various specializations such as animation, computer science engineering, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, electrical engineering, and many more.
• The College of Management offers courses like B.Com, BBA, and MBA in various specializations such as finance, accounting, marketing, strategic management, human resources, and many more.
• The Faculty of Science offers courses like B.Sc and M.Sc in various specializations such as physics, chemistry, mathematics, environment, and many more.
• The College of Paramedical Sciences offers courses like B.Sc and M.Sc in various specializations such as medical laboratory technique, forensic science, optometry, radiological image technique, and many more.
• The Dental College and Research Center offers courses like BDS and MDS in various specializations such as oral and maxillofacial surgery, periodontology, public health dentistry, and many more.

Admission Process

The candidates need to follow the given procedure to get admission to the university.

• The university offers the application form in both online and offline mode.
• The candidates can visit the official website of the university, which is https://www.tmu.ac.in/tmu/application-form. They can apply online or download the application form.
• The candidates need to fill in the application form completely with the required personal details and upload the documents of previous academic records.
• The candidates have to pay 1000 rupees in online mode or make a demand draft (DD) in the name of the university and send it through postal service to submit the application form.
• The university prepares a merit list of the selected students on the basis of their previous academic records and the marks obtained in the qualifying examinations like entrance examination of the university and other national level entrance tests.
• The candidates are called for counseling if they have the eligibility and had the cutoff marks in the qualifying examinations. They have to verify their documents before admissions.
• The selected candidates have to pay an admission fee to confirm their seats.

Results and Cut off

The students are given admissions to the university on the basis of their previous academic records and the ranking in various entrance examinations conducted by the university, state, and central government agencies. 

The university considers JEE mains, UPSEE, and GATE examination for engineering courses, NEET UG is considered for the admissions in MBBS and BDS courses and NEET PG is considered for MD and MS. The CAT, CMAT, and MAT examinations for management courses. The university conducts entrance examinations for Ph.D courses.

The minimum eligibility required for an undergraduate course is 10+2 examination from a recognized board of education in India with at least 50% marks with the similar courses. The postgraduate program requires a student to have an undergraduate degree in a similar specialization from a recognized university. For a doctoral program, students should have a postgraduate degree in a similar specialization from a recognized university with at least 55% marks and a relaxation of 5% is given to the reserve category students.

Placement

The university organizes campus placement drives for the students in their final year of academics. The students have an opportunity to get placed in the top multinational companies during their academic session. The university calls over 627 companies in a session for campus placement drives. The highest package ever received by any student at the university is 48 lakhs per annum. The students received an offer of more than 20 lakhs per annum by five recruiters. The university has a placement record of 77% students at the campus. From management, 380 out of 476 students got placement offers. The College of Computer and IT has an excellent record of placing 506 students out of 619 students.

Campus Facilities

The campus of the university is located in Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh and spread over an area of 140 acres, which is full of greenery and trees that offers a pure environment for the students to complete their educational programs. The university offers facilities like faculty accommodations, hostel accommodations, cafeteria, transportation, labs, library, bank, ATM, sports, auditorium, shopping complex, guest house, medical, hospital, and many more.

The university has a shopping complex for the students and staff so they do not have to move out of the campus for the little things. The complex has the shops of all the necessary things needed for living inside the campus. The cafeteria is an awesome place where the students prefer to cherish every moment of their academic life.

The university offers a great sports facility for the students, the grounds are well maintained and monitored regularly by the curators. The university also offers all the resources required for the sports. There is a gym at the campus which is used by the students to workout and stay physically fit and mentally active.

The hospital at the university is always ready for any emergency situation that happens at the campus. The university organizes regular medical check up camps for the students to monitor their health conditions. The university also has the banking and ATM facility for the students and staff.

The hostel at the university has separate blocks for boys and girls with the mess facility that offers great meals to the students. There are 2 hostels for boys and 3 hostels for girls that offer a total accommodation of 4600 students. The auditorium at the campus is used for various cultural, tech, and annual programs and has a seating capacity of 550.
