Overview
The Shree Guru Gobind Singh Tricentenary University (SGT University) is situated in the city of Gurugram, Haryana and was established in the year 2013 as a state private university by the Haryana government. The university is on the border of Delhi and merely 5 km away, which makes it easy for students to access Delhi airport.
The university offers a lot of diplomas, undergraduate, postgraduate and Ph.D degrees in various disciplines like art, science, commerce, medical, engineering, pharmacy and many more. The university set up a special foundation known as Sanrachna, which looks after all the innovation and research in the fields of medical, engineering, environmental etc.
The university also provides global exposure to its students through the global exchange program which gives an opportunity to study abroad in some of the renowned universities like University of Queensland, Australia; Harper Adams University, UK; Academy of Art, Sofia, Bulgaria; University of California-Berkeley, USA; National University of Singapore, and many more.
The placement cell at the university equips students with the all-round development of their personality, which helps them to get placed during their academic session. The faculty members are well experienced and knowledgeable in their recognized fields, which helps students to learn the theoretical along with practical knowledge of academics.
Course Highlights
The university has a variety of faculties that offer different courses in several specializations. Some of them are listed below.
● The Faculty of Allied Health Sciences offers B.Sc, M.Sc, and Ph.D courses in various specializations such as microbiology, perfusion technology, neuro-physiology technology, radio imaging technology, and many more.
● The Faculty of the Indian Medical System offers a Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine & Surgery.
● The Faculty of Engineering and Technology offers B.Tech, M.Tech, and Ph.D in computer science engineering, civil engineering, mechanical engineering, and electronic communication engineering.
● The Faculty of Commerce & Management offers Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Business Administration (General), Bachelor of Business Administration (Analytics), Bachelor of Business Administration (Hospital Administration), Bachelor of Commerce (Hons.), BBA + MBA (Integrated), Master of Business Administration (Dual Specialization), Master of Business Administration (Hospital Administration), and Doctor of Philosophy (Commerce & Management).
● SGT College of Pharmacy offers diploma, graduation, postgraduate, and Ph.D in pharmacy and practice.
● The Faculty of Science offers B.Sc, M.Sc, and Ph.D in physics, chemistry, math, forensic science, and environmental science.
● The Faculty of Mass Communication and Media Technology offers BA, MA, and Ph.D in foreign languages, print journalism, mass communication, and many more.
● The Faculty of Fashion & Design offers courses such as Bachelor of Design [Apparel & Lifestyle Products], Master of Design, Master of Business Administration (Fashion Management), and Doctor of Philosophy (Fashion Design).
Admission Process
The candidates need to follow the given procedure if they want to get admission to the university.
● The candidates have to visit the official site of the university to get the online registration form.
● The candidates need to register themselves by filling in the required personal details.
● After registering, the student gets access to the online application form, which needs to be filled completely with the required details and uploaded with documents to prove the student's eligibility for the course.
● The students need to pay an application fee to complete the application form.
● The students will be eligible for the entrance examination, and the admit card will be provided a few days before the exam.
● After performing in the exam, the university will prepare a merit list, and the students who secure the cutoff marks will be called for counseling.
● After completing the counseling process, the students have to pay the admission fee to confirm their admission.
Results and Cut off
There are different results and cutoffs needed for admission in different courses. For example, for an undergraduate course, the students should have passed 10+2 from a recognized board in India with a minimum grade of 50%, and a relaxation of 5% is given to category students. The students must have a valid scorecard from state or central government qualifying exams to get preference in admission. For a masters, the students need to have a graduation degree in the specialization. For Ph.D, the university follows the same guidelines given by UGC.
Placement
The university offers many campus placement drives that provide students an opportunity to get placed during their academic session. In 2022, the university had placed 80% of its students till June, and the highest package offered was Rs. 24 lakh per annum. The university has 212 recruiters in 2022 and is expecting more in coming months. The major recruiters for this university are Adobe, Apollo, Dr.Reddy’s, Bosch and many more.
Alumni Network
Alumni from the university are working in many national and multinational companies in approximately every sector of employment. The university has a web portal that connects the alumni to the university, which forms a relationship between the university and the corporate world. The university also conducts some of the events to increase the engagement of alumni with the university.
Campus Facilities
The campus of Shree Guru Gobind Singh Tricentenary University is located in Gurgaon, Haryana and has a total area of 70 acres, which is filled with greenery and trees. The infrastructure of the classroom and other buildings is eye-catching and beautiful.
The university offers a separate hostel facility for boys and girls with a mess service that provides healthy and tasty food. Each hostel is equipped with a study room for enhancing academic knowledge.
The university also offers a transport service for students and staff, which has over 15 buses covering every corner of the city. The buses provide easy mobility for the hostel students as well as day scholars.
The university has a library with a lot of books and other journals with daily newspapers that enable students to get knowledge of each field along with their academic subject. There is a seminar hall at the campus that holds events and academic seminars for the university. Various cultural programs also take place at the seminar hall.
The hospital of the university provides regular health check-ups and is always ready to act in any emergency situation. There are also some playgrounds available at the university, which hold several sports tournaments keeping the physical fitness of the students in mind.
