Overview

The Seacom Skills University is situated in the district of Birbhum, West Bengal, and was established as a private university in 2014. The university is known for its practical-oriented studies, which are focused on the all-round personalities of the students. Along with excellence in the theoretical portion of the academic university also gives emphasis on extracurricular activities of the students like singing, dancing, theater, sports, and many other things.

The university also provides the students with an opportunity for training in some overseas countries with exposure to global students. The university also offers scholarships to students with excellent academic records and also to students having national or international certificates in sports and cultural activities.

The university offers various courses in diplomas, undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programs in different specializations, such as engineering, management, legal studies, science, arts, pharmacy, commerce and many more. The faculty members at the university have a lot of experience of teaching with excellent knowledge in their recognised fields.

The campus of the university is spread over an area of 50 acres with all the facilities like a fully wi-fi enabled campus, library, laboratory, gym, sports, ground, transportation, green campus and many more. The campus is in Shantiniketan, which is one of the oldest places where people used to come for education and was made popular by Ravindra Nath Tagore.

● The School of Engineering and Technology at the university offers courses like B.Tech, M.Tech, and an Integrated Diploma in several specializations such as computer science engineering, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, and electrical engineering.

● The School of Management Studies offers BBA, MBA, BBA+MBA, and MBA+Ph.D degrees in various specializations.

● The School of Legal Studies offers BALLB and LLB degrees.

● The School of Sciences offers courses like B.Sc, M.Sc, and Ph.D in Physics, Chemistry, Bio-Science, Nutrition, Geography, Agriculture, and Environmental Science.

● The School of Hotel and Hospitality Management offers courses like diploma, B.Sc, and Masters in Hotel Management and Hospitality Management.

● The School of Pharmacy offers both B.Pharm and D.Pharm.

Admission Process

The candidates need to follow the given process to get admission to the university.

● The candidates are advised to visit the official site of the university to get the registration form.

● The students need to fill in the registration form with their required personal details and a document like a government ID.

● The student then has to fill in the application form by choosing the desired course they want to study.

● After choosing the course, one has to upload the required previous academic records to prove eligibility.

● The application form will be considered complete only after the payment of the application fee.

● The university offers admission on the basis of the West Bengal Joint Entrance Exam (WBJEE) and other government entrance exams, so the students must appear in those to get eligibility.

● After all the above processes, if a candidate secures good marks and is present in the merit list, he/she will be allotted a seat in the desired course.

● The students need to submit the admission fee to confirm their admission.

Results and Cut off

The university requires different results and cutoffs for various courses. For B.Tech, the students should have at least 45% of the marks in 10+2 or equivalent level of examination, a relaxation of 5% marks is given to the category students. A valid scorecard with a cutoff mark in WBJEE or JEE Mains is preferred for admission. For a masters, the students need to have a graduation degree from any recognized university in India with the same specialization. For a diploma, the students are required to have passed the 10th or equivalent level of examination from a recognized schooling board in India.

Placement

The university offers campus placement drives for students during their academic sessions. The university has a placement cell, which conducts mock interviews and aptitude tests to boost the confidence of the students to perform well during their placement drives. The students are also equipped with a live training program and a lot of practical activities that make them industry-ready and help them perform well in their respective careers. The major recruiters of the university are ITC, HDFC, Accenture, IBM, Infosys, Aditya Birla Group, and ICICI.

Campus Facilities

The campus of the university is located in Shantiniketan, which is near a district named Birbhum in West Bengal. The campus has a huge area of 50 acres with a lot of trees and greenery, which is spread over all the campus. The campus has all the facilities that are needed for the smooth functioning of an educational institution.

The university has an auditorium that is used for big events like annual parties, concerts, and other activities that require a huge seating capacity. A seminar hall is also there for holding seminars and live training programs for the students to learn practical things and acquire academic knowledge through seminars.

The library at the university is well equipped with a lot of academic books, which are used by the students to complete their academic education. The university also allows the students to check out books from the library for one semester. The laboratory at the university has all the necessary equipment that is needed by the students to complete their practical work.

The university also offers a sports ground facility that is used by the students to be physically fit and also engage themselves in extracurricular activities apart from their academic classes.
