RIMT University

Overview

The RIMT University is a state private university situated in the Gobindgarh district of Punjab and was established in 1998 and later recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) in 2015. The university offers more than 250 programs in 27 schools at the university. The university offers 60% scholarships to students on the basis of their excellent academic records and to students from the weaker financial section of society.

The university offers various courses in diplomas, undergraduate, and postgraduate programs in several specializations, such as agriculture, arts, design, humanities, science, commerce, management, bio science, computer applications, engineering, journalism, nursing, pharmaceuticals, health science, and many more. The university offers a number of professional and traditional courses, which provide knowledge and practical skills to students in every subject.

The faculty members at the university are the most qualified ones, with a lot of experience and an exceptional set of knowledge in their recognized fields. The students get equipped with a great set of theoretical knowledge along with the practical aspects of the subject by the experts of that specific subject. The university has collaborations with more than 60 organizations, including both foreign universities and multinational companies and industries. The university organizes several student, knowledge, and faculty exchange programs that help in developing a global scenario of learning and work culture.

The university offers a number of live training programs from the top industrialists and a number of seminars and workshops that build critical thinking skills in the students. The focus of the university is on the all round personality development of the students, which helps them in placement drives and later in their professional lives. The highest placement offered to a student at the university is Rs. 43 lakhs per annum. RIMT University is ranked 169th in all India and the 13th state university of Punjab by the IIRF University Rankings 2023 among the best universities in India.

Course Highlights

The School of Engineering and Technology offers courses like Diplomas, B.Tech, and M.Tech in various specializations such as electrical engineering, chemical engineering, civil engineering, mechanical engineering, electronics engineering, food technology engineering, and many more.
The School of Applied Science offers courses like B.Sc and M.Sc in various specializations such as physics, chemistry, math, medical, non-medical, and many more.
The School of Arts and Design offers courses like BA, B.Des, BFA, MA, MFA, M.Des, and diplomas in various specializations such as interior design, fashion design, game and animation design, applied arts, communication design, and many more.
The School of Management offers courses like BBA, B.Com, M.Com, and MBA in various specializations such as sales, advertising, finance, accounting, strategic HRM, business analytics, and many more.
The School of Pharmaceutical Sciences offers courses like B.Pharma and an MBA in pharmaceutical management.

Admission Process

The candidates need to follow the given procedure to get admission into the university.

The candidates need to visit the official website of the university to apply online.
The candidates have to fill in the login page with their mobile number and email ID, and have to choose the desired course and specialization.
The above process will lead the student to the application form, which needs to be filled completely with the necessary personal details and where they have to upload documents like previous academic records.
The candidates have to pay the application fee to complete the application form.
The candidates have to appear in the entrance test organized by the university.
The candidates who have cutoff marks in the entrance exam will be called for counseling.
The university will prepare a merit list of the selected candidates and they have to submit their admission fee at a given time to confirm their seats.

Results and Cut off

The university offers admissions to students on the basis of their previous academic records and the entrance exams organized by the university or any state or national level entrance exam.

For an undergraduate program, students need to have passed 10+2 or an equivalent level of examination from a recognized board of education in India. The minimum eligibility required for each course is different, like for an engineering undergraduate course, where students need to score at least 45%, and a relaxation of 5% is given to category students.

For a master’s degree, students should have an undergraduate degree with a similar specialization and with at least 50% marks, and a relaxation of 5% is given to category students.

Placement

The university offers the campus placement drives for the students in their final year of academic session. This provides an opportunity for the students to get placed during their academic session. The students at the university are already equipped with industrial experience due to the collaboration of the industries with the university. The university believers in the all round personality development of the student by providing them personality development classes on a regular basis. The major recruiters of the university are Birlasoft, Bajaj Capitals, Google, Amazon, Airtel, and many more. More than 150 companies have already visited the university for the campus placement drives for the current session.

The alumni of the university are working in various sectors of employment today. The university organizes several events and programs for the alumni to stay connected with the alumni. The alumni association of the university keeps track of their alumni as they help in the smooth campus placement drives for currently studying students. Campus Facilities

The campus of the university is located in Gobindgarh, Punjab. The campus is equipped with all the facilities that are needed for the smooth functioning of any educational firm. There are hostels, libraries, labs, transportation, bank, ATM, seminar halls, sports grounds, NCC, and many more facilities are available at the campus.

The university offers separate hostels for boys and girls with a capacity of more than 2500 students, and a mess is also attached to the hostels where the students and staff can have a tasty and nutritious meal. There are some cafeterias that offer snacks and a fun place to spend the students' breaks from classes.

The library at the university is huge and holds a lot of books that are used to enhance the theoretical knowledge of the students. The laboratories are the places to do experiments, and the university has fully equipped labs for each subject offered.

The university offers health facilities for the students at the university. The university provides ambulance service in case of an emergency. The transportation service of the university is commendable. It has a total of 120 buses, which cover every corner of the city.

The university organizes many sports events during the academic session to keep the students physically fit. The university also offers gym service to the students staying on campus that helps them with performing entrance workouts.

The university hosts many events at the college like annual function programs where the students get a chance to perform different extracurricular activities like singing, dancing, theater, modeling, and many more.
