Overview

The People’s University is situated in the city of Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, and was established as a private university in 2011, also recognized by the University Grant Commission (UGC). The university has several faculties which offer specialization in medical courses like medicine, dentistry, nursing, pharmacy, and paramedical sciences. Along with the medical discipline, the university also offers engineering, management, law, science, humanities, and many other specializations.

The university's major focus is on professional courses and the high quality of research to bring a positive change in society. The university offers a number of courses in undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral degrees. The faculty members at the university have knowledge of both practical and theoretical aspects of academics, which boosts the knowledge of the students along with the skills to work in any industrial or corporate world.

The university has a number of collaborations with national and international educational as well as industrial firms, which help the university in the exchange of knowledge, along with seminars, industrial training, and a number of live training programs for the all-round development of the students. Some of the international universities having collaborations with People’s University are Lincoln University College, Cambridge Assessment English, IBM, and many more.

The medical college at the university offers training and internships at the hospital of the university. The hospital has a capacity of 1,200 beds. The campus has a total area of more than 83 acres and offers all the necessary facilities for the students to complete their academic process. People’s University is ranked 93rd in all India and the 9th state university of Madhya Pradesh by the IIRF University Rankings 2023, among the top universities in India.

Course Highlights

The university offers various courses under different faculties in several specializations. Some of them are mentioned below.

• The Faculty of Medicine offers courses like M.Sc, MBBS, MD, and MS in various specializations such as anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, pharmacology, and microbiology.
• The Faculty of Dentistry offers courses like BDS, MDS, and Diplomas in various specializations.
• The Faculty of Pharmacy offers courses like D.Pharma, B.Pharma, and M.Pharma in various specializations.
• The Faculty of Management and Hotel Management offers courses like B.Sc, B.Com, M.Com, BBA, MBA, and BHMCT in various specializations.

Admission Process

The candidates need to follow the given process to get admission to the university.

• The candidates have to visit the official website of the university and click on the admission column to proceed further.
• The candidate needs to fill in the registration form with their personal details and have to choose the course they want to take admission.
• The completion of the registration form will lead the students to the application form.
• The candidates need to fill in the application form completely with the necessary details and their previous academic records.
• The students have to pay the application fee to submit the application form.
• The candidates have to appear in the entrance test organized by the university and score a cutoff mark.
• After all the above processes, the students are called for the counseling process, where they may have to go through a group discussion and personal interview.
• The university prepares a merit list, and the selected candidates need to pay the admission fee to confirm their seats.

Results and Cut off

The university offers admissions to the various courses on the basis of the previous academic record of the students and the marks obtained in any government level exam or the university entrance exam. For the bachelor's in medical courses, the university requires a valid scorecard with cutoff marks in NEET, and students should have a 10+2 certificate from a recognized board of education. The remaining seats are filled on the basis of a merit list prepared by the university. For a master's program, the students should have a bachelor's degree in a similar specialization from a recognized university in India. The university follows similar results and cutoffs for the Ph.D programs.

Placement

The university offers campus placements for students in their final years in every course offered at the campus. The placement cell prepares the students for the placement drives by providing them with mock interviews and a number of aptitude tests, which boost the confidence of the students and make them perform better in the placement drives. For the students of the medical section, the university provides an internship at the college hospital. After completing the internship, the students get placed into good national and multinational companies. The major recruiters of the university are Infosys (Voice Vertical), TechSynergy, Snehanjali Retails, Yoctel Solution & Linuxbean, Trifid Research, Family Pure R.O, Digicon Software, Radus InfoTek, Barbeque Nation, Spanco, and many more.

Alumni Network

The alumni of the university are working today in a number of national and multinational companies in different employment sectors. The university has started an alumni association that organizes several events for the alumni that make them feel connected to the university. The strong relationship between the university and alumni helps the university in organizing smooth campus placement drives.

Campus Facilities

The campus of the People’s University is located in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. The campus is spread over a huge area of 83 acres, which is green inside out and has a large number of trees that offer a pure environment for the students to complete their academic sessions. 

The campus offers separate and common hostels for boys and girls with the facility of a mess that provides tasty foods, and the mess menu changes according to the students' and seasonal specials. The total capacity of the accommodation is around 2000, of which the university offers 839 accommodations for boys and 1139 accommodations for girls.

The libraries at the university hold more than 71,000 books, which include academic books, journals, magazines, and other books. The digital sections of the bibraries hold many CDs, DVDs , ebooks, and books in other digital formats. There are a total of 56 departmental libraries.

The university has 50 seminar halls, 11 conference rooms, and 3 big auditoriums. The seminar halls are used for departmental activities, seminars, and several other live training programs. The auditoriums are used for the big events like annual functions, cultural programs, etc.

The sports ground at the university promotes physical fitness in the students. The university also offers a gym for students who prefer to do intense workouts. The university also gives emphasis to the medical conditions of students by providing them with assistance through regular medical camps.

The university offers other services, like banking with an ATM, transportation,  Indian Postal Service, restaurants, snack corners, beauty salons, guest houses, staff quarters, etc.
