Maharishi Markandeshwar Institute of Medical Sciences and Research is a pioneer in the country to introduce problem-based learning in Medical subjects. The National Medical Commission has approved Maharishi Markandeshwar Institute of Medical Sciences & Research for undergraduate (MBBS), post-graduate (MD, MS, and PG diploma) degrees in 21 disciplines, and super-speciality (DM, MCh) courses in four disciplines .
This university offers both undergraduate and postgraduate courses. With super-specialized facilities in Urology, Cardiology, Gastroenterology, Rheumatology, Neurosurgery, Pediatric Surgery, Nephrology, Plastic Surgery, Cardio-Thoracic, and Vascular Surgery, the hospital has all the super-speciality departments. This university provides clinical internships to all of its students once they complete their MBBS. Results and Cut off
For admissions at Maharishi Markandeshwar Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, applicants must have 10+2 or equivalent education from any recognized board in the country. Currently, there is no cut-off for admission to the university. Admission is done based on the NEET rank of a student. However, scores above 50% in higher secondary school in Physics, Chemistry Biology, and English can help secure acceptance into most of the undergraduate courses offered by the institution. The entrance requirement for post-graduate programs is MBBS with a minimum of 50% grades.
Placement
Each of this institution's students is offered an internship in a clinical subject following the completion of the MBBS study. Campus Facilities
Hostel facilities with modern amenities are available for both girls and boys. The hostels have well furnished rooms, clean and hygienic bathrooms and toilets with uninterrupted water supply, and a common room with entertainment facilities. All hostels provide high-speed internet available for 24 hours. Many students choose to live on campus since it is not only economically feasible but it allows them more free time for studying. Students are served thrice daily a healthy and hygienic meal in the dining area, saving them the effort and time of cooking.
A rich collection of text books and reference books is available in the central library of the Institute with a total of approximately more than 27,000 books and 20,000 e-books available. There are 9221 journals that are subscribed to by the university, including 147 international, 187 Indian and 8887 electronic journals. The students can pick up CD-ROMs on different topics from various subjects for their benefit as well. The library is equipped with computers, internet access, and access to Up-To-Date, OVID, and Medlars. In addition, departments have their own departmental libraries with books and journals devoted to their distinct subjects.
The hospital offers the most up-to-date, centrally air-conditioned operating rooms and an intensive care unit. The operating rooms and intensive care units are furnished with the most advanced technology. The departments of Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Pathology, Microbiology, Pharmacology, Forensic Medicine, Community Medicine, Ophthalmology, ENT, Obst. & Gynaecology, Surgery, Anaesthesia, Orthopedics, Medicine, Dermatology, Psychiatry, Chest & TB, Radiation oncology, Medical Gastroenterology, Urology, Neurosurgery and Radiodiagnosis have highly qualified and experienced staff and are fully equipped.
