Overview

The C.U. Shah University is a private state university that is situated in Surendranagar, Gujarat, and was established in 2013 by the Wardhman Bharti Trust and later recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC). The university offers various diploma, undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs in several specializations such as engineering, arts, commerce, pharmacy, nursing, management, education, science, computer science, and many more.

The university offers scholarship schemes in the form of post matric scholarships for minority students and scholarships for professional and technical courses. The students also get financial assistance from the government of Gujarat. The university is managed by the Wardhman Bharti Trust, which has close relationships with many educational and industrial organizations that offer assistance to the students to share their knowledge and skills. 

The faculty members at the university are eligible in every sense of knowledge and experience they have in the profession of teaching. The students have a chance to gain an exceptional set of knowledge from them during the academic session. The university focuses on the extracurricular activities by promoting the students in various fields they want to pursue their career. C.U. Shah University is ranked 149th in all India and the 15th state university of Gujarat by the IIRF University Rankings 2023, among the top universities in India.

Course Highlights

The university offers a number of courses under various faculties in several specializations. Some of them are mentioned below.

• The Faculty of Engineering and Technology offers courses like B.Tech, M.Tech, MBA, MAM, and Ph.D in various specializations such as computer engineering, electrical & electronics, information technology, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, automobile engineering, instrumentation & control, and many more.
• The Faculty of Pharmacy offers courses like B.Pharma and M.Pharma in various specializations such as pharmaceutical chemistry, pharmacology, and many more.
• The Faculty of Arts and Humanities offers courses like BA and MA in various specializations such as performing and visual arts, mass communication, and many more.
• The Faculty of Management offers courses like BBA, PG Diploma, and MBA in various specializations such as hospital & health care management, finance, marketing, human resources, and many more.

Admission Process

The candidates need to follow the given process to get admission into the university.

• The candidates need to visit the official website of the university to apply online or download the application form and send the hard copy to the university in offline mode.
• The candidates have to register themselves on the admission portal with their mobile numbers and email IDs.
• After registering, candidates have to log in to the application form and fill it with the required details and upload the necessary documents like marksheets and certificates of previous academic records.
• The candidates have to pay an application fee to submit the application form.
• The students are advised to appear in the Gujarat Common Entrance Exam (GUJCET) for the engineering and medical courses.
• The university will declare a merit list, and the students with the cutoff marks will be called for counseling.
• The counseling will consist of group discussion, personal interviews, and document verification.
• The selected students have to pay an admissions fee to confirm their seats at the university.

Results and Cut off

The students are given admission on the basis of their previous academic records and their performance in state and national level entrance examinations like GUJCET, GATE, CET, CMAT, and others. 

The university offers admissions to engineering courses on the basis of GUJCET and GATE scores. The management courses are considered a valid scorecard in the CMAT entrance examination. The pharmacy courses are given admission on the basis of rank in the GPAT entrance examinations. Other traditional courses allow admissions on a merit basis.

The students need to pass the 10th examination from a recognized board of education to get admission into diploma courses. A 10+2 or an equivalent level of examination from a recognized board of education is mandatory for students wishing to get admission into an undergraduate course. For a master’s degree, students need to have an undergraduate degree in a similar specialization from a recognized university. The doctoral degrees are admitted through a national level entrance examination and the minimum eligibility is a postgraduate degree in a similar specialization from a recognized university .

Placement

The university offers campus placement drives for the students in their final years that give them an opportunity to start their professional career just after completing their academic sessions. The university has placed many students in top companies in India. There are 62 Students in TCS, 10 Students in Intel India, 05 Students in Wipro, 02 Students in Infosys, 06 Students in Essar, 04 Students in Adani, 03 Students in Reliance, and many more. The training and placement cell at the university organizes various workshops, live training programs, expert lectures, and personality development classes for the better performance of the students in campus placement drives.

Campus Facilities

The campus of the university is located in Surendranagar, Gujarat and spread over an area of 60 acres that is filled with a lot of trees and greenery, which create an environment that is suitable to carry out the academic process. The campus has a lot of facilities like auditorium, transportation, laboratories, library, hostel, sports, gym, cafeteria, mess, medical, gym, wi-fi, and many more.

The university has a lot of laboratories for each subject like computer lab, civil engineering, lab, communication lab, mechanics lab, and many more. All the labs are equipped with the necessary instruments and the resources required for the practical's. The library at the university is the knowledge center as it contains all the necessary academic books along with the journals, magazines, research papers, and others.

The university has separate hostels for boys and girls and is further divided in the blocks of diploma, undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral courses. The mess is attached to the hostel that offers good two time meals and breakfasts for the students and staff. The cafeteria is also a good place to have snacks and enjoy the time in breaks between the classes.

The campus has auditorium, sports grounds, and gym that host many extracurricular activities like cultural programs, tech events, sports events, and many more. The gym is used by the students for intense workouts and to be physically fit and mentally active. 

The university offers transportation service from campus to the various corners of the city, which provide a quick mobility to the students and staff. There is an arrangement of the medical facility for the students.
