Known for being the top design institute in India, the Unitedworld Institute of Design (UID) is a constituent institute of Karnavati University. The UID was established in 2012 in Ahmedabad to outshine the top design institutes in India and become one of the premier design institutes. The institute focuses on learning various UG and PG Design Programmes with creative learning techniques and world-class art labs.

UID is among the very few institutes that received the academic membership of the most well-known design associations like the Association of Commonwealth Universities, Association of Designers of India (ADI), Cumulus Association, International Federation of Fashion Technology Institutes (IFFTI), Interaction Design Association (IDA), and World Design Organisation (WDO).

Admission Process

The UID’s admission process for Undergraduate and Postgraduate programmes consists of two tiers. They are:

1. Design Aptitude Test for UID (UID-DAT) [Tier 1]
2. Situation Test and Portfolio Evaluation for UID (ST-PE) [Tier 2]

In approximately 24 cities across India, the UID-DAT tests are conducted. The Tier 1 tests are conducted in various test centres across the 24 cities. Post the Tier 1 test, the candidates are shortlisted as per the UID-DAT test. Those who are shortlisted get selected for the Tier 2 ST-PE evaluation. The shortlisted candidates for Tier 2 are invited to the Ahmedabad Campus for the final ST-PE evaluation for admission.

UID offers both national and international internships to help the students apply and work with what they have learnt in their programme. Result and Cut-off

To get admission in UID for B. Design Programme under UG level, a student will require a minimum of 50% marks in 10+2. Additionally, the admission process includes two tiers consisting of a Design Aptitude Test in Tier 1 and a Situation Test & Portfolio Evaluation in Tier 2. Shortlisted candidates from Tier 1 get invited for the final Portfolio Presentation round at the main campus in Ahmedabad.

At the Karnavati University campus, the morning starts with a delicious breakfast at the well-maintained and pristine mess of Karnavati University. It is followed by the afternoon activities, which begins with interactive classroom sessions that are immersive and help the students learn deeply about their respective subjects.
