Calcutta National Medical College has transformed the world of teaching with its extraordinary contribution in teaching medical aspirants. The college was previously known as Calcutta National Medical Institute, established in 1948. The college was founded by the amalgamation of Calcutta medical institute (Estd 1907) and National medical institute (Estd 1921). Presently, the hospital and the college have been working under the supervision of the Department of Health & Family Welfare, Govt of West Bengal since 1967. Dr. Sundari Mohan Das was the Founder Principal of the institute.
