O.P. Jindal University (OPJU) was founded by the Jindal Education and Welfare Society and is situated in the state of Chhattisgarh, in Raigarh city. The university provides a quality education to its students and prepares them for the industry and corporate world. The university offers different courses of diplomas, undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral degrees.
The university believes in the all round development of a student and makes them succeed in any field, regardless of their educational and cultural background. ● The school of management at this university includes programs like, Bachelor of Commerce Honors (Hons), Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), Master of Business Administration (MBA), Executive Master of Business Administration (E-MBA), and Ph.D.
Admission Process
● Anyone having the eligibility can apply (online/offline) for the programs at OPJU School of Engineering, School of Management, and School of Science. An application should be accompanied by a non-refundable application.
● A fee of Rs. 500* for diploma courses, and undergraduate programs, Rs. 750* for postgraduate programs, and Rs. 3,000 for doctoral programs is payable online (Internet Banking/Credit/Debit card) or by DD/Bank Transfer.
● One can proceed further after qualifying on the merit list. The qualified candidates will be called for counseling. In the event of the fulfillment of the requisite conditions, eligibility and verification of documents, a provisional admission offer letter will be sent to the candidate.
Initially, one has to pay the admission fee of 10,000 within the stipulated time mentioned in the offer letter. The one-time deposit shall be adjusted to the enrollment fee on confirmation of admission, and in the case of admission cancellation by the student, the OTD is non-refundable.
If the candidate doesn’t pay the full fee by the stipulated date, the admission would be deemed canceled and the seat would become vacant for the next round of counseling. There will be three rounds of counseling, and after that, if there are any unfilled seats, they will be filled on the basis of rolling counseling.
Results and Cut off
For different courses, one should have at least 50% marks in Class XII (Science Stream) and a valid JEE/CGPET/OPJU Test score card. For M.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering: BE / BTech or equivalent degree in Computer Science and Engineering / Information Technology or MCA with minimum aggregate of 50%. Universities have different eligibility criteria for other courses.
Placement
Placements denote the success of any university, as the prior goal of education is to get a well settled job and do something great in your professional career. OPJU helps students achieve all they need from a job and their career. The university also established a placement cell named The Career Development Center (CDC) of OP Jindal University, which is a dynamic unit that provides a comprehensive array of services and support to its students that will help them in their life-long career development and recruitment.
The university has a good placement record as 80% of the students from the 2018 batch got placed, 82% of the students from the 2019 batch got placed, and 85% of the students from the 2020 batch got placed. So, the university is seeing a hike in placements in recent years, and it is a good sign for the students.
Alumni Network
OPJU keeps its alumni closer for various reasons relating to the relationship between the university and the industries. The university has a separate portal for alumni where they can register themselves and participate in various functions and events happening at the university. This separate website of the alumni aims to offer an overview of the activities at the universities, the role that they play in forging networking and collaborations, getting together with alumni, and apart from that, aiding and supporting numerous activities at OPJU like placement drives and celebrative programs.
Campus Facilities
The university is in Chhattisgarh and has a lush green campus and an eco-friendly environment, OPJU has one of the best infrastructures in the state. The campus is equipped with several facilities that are needed to run a university. The library is a must-need part of an educational campus, and here at this university, the library contains 30,000+ books with 8,000+ journals. Not only this, the campus also has a digital library with dual monitor systems.
The university campus has several clubs to keep students engaged and not let them get bored from regular academic classes. Various clubs at the university campus are open to all the students during their academic session at OPJU.
The campus is equipped with shops and other facilities such as a bank with ATM facilities, a documentation center, a bookstore, a mailroom, and a coffee shop that provide for the day-to-day needs of students. Hostel rooms at OPJU are big, air-conditioned, fully furnished, and equipped with a cable connection and the Internet.
