Akal University is a private state university which is situated in the city of Bhatinda in Punjab and was established in 2015 by the Kalgidhar Society and later approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC). The university offers various undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs in several specializations such as computer science engineering, management, commerce, education, social science, mathematics, physics, chemistry, zoology, botany, languages, economics, and many more. The university has various scholarships for meritorious students, students from the weaker financial section, reserve category students, and minority community scholarships. The university offers upto 100% scholarship for the students having more than 95.10% marks in the qualifying examination in which the fee will be managed in tuition fee and the accommodation fee. The university offers admission to its undergraduate and postgraduate programs on the basis of the previous academic records of the students. Admission to the doctoral courses needs students to pass an entrance examination organized by the university and other national level entrance examinations like the UGC NET/ JRF.
The eligibility criteria of the student are necessary for admission to every course offered at the university. The students need to pass the 10+2 or an equivalent level of examination from a recognized board of education with at least 60% marks, and a relaxation of 5% marks is given to the reserve category students for admission to an undergraduate program. For admission to a master’s degree, students need to have an undergraduate degree in a similar specialization from a recognized university with at least 60% marks for unreserved candidates and 55% marks for reserve category students.
For admission to the doctoral programs, the university follows the similar norms of the UGC, in which students need to have a postgraduate degree in a similar specialization from a recognized university in India or abroad with at least 55% marks, and a relaxation of 5% marks is given to the reserve category students.
