B.S. Medical College was founded back in 1956, the founder was Bankura Sammilani Trust. In 1961, the Government of West Bengal took the college. In 2005, there were a total of 100 seats for medical students. With the passing years, the institute has shown development, and finally, in 2009, the college introduced, Postgraduate in General Surgery, General Medicine, Pediatric Medicine, and Gynae and Obstetrics, permitted by MCI. The institute is doing a Nobel work of imparting medical education, healthcare facilities and research to Bankura people and neighbouring districts. Apart from that, this university has given a ray of hope to thousands of students, who want to be a doctor and serve the country with their extraordinary contribution.
