The US News and World Report’s 38th annual report ranking the best colleges in the United States released Monday evaluated 1500 US institutions granting undergraduate degrees.
Harvard University secured the first position, and Princeton University, and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) have held the top two places for the 2022-23 years. This list has been released as per the US News and World Report. Princeton has led the national university list for the 12th straight year.
Ranked colleges were grouped into four broad categories
- National Universities
- National Liberal Arts Colleges
- Regional Universities
- Regional colleges
The rankings are based on some parameters assessing academic standards some of them are mentioned below
- Graduation and retention rate,
- Undergraduate academic reputation
- Financial resources per student
Certain factors for assigning ranks were reformed by SAT/ACT calculation policy. This change has happened due to the pandemic or financial restraints.
parameters like high school class standing and average graduation rate would be given a higher weightage this year.
The top 5 ranks remain dominated by the same universities as the previous year.
