Secondary School Vacancies: Bihar Continues to Struggle The trend continues at the secondary level, where Bihar faces a significant shortage with 32,929 vacancies. Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal follow suit, underscoring the persistent challenges in these states. Bihar's Dilemma: A Spike in Vacancies Despite Recruitment Drives Despite a large-scale teacher recruitment drive in October, Bihar has witnessed a concerning increase in vacancies, adding over 10,000 compared to the previous year. The total now stands at over 2.25 lakh teaching vacancies, prompting the government to initiate a comprehensive recruitment effort to fill 1,21,370 positions. The initial notification of 69,706 vacancies has been surpassed by adding an extra 50,000 vacancies, revealing the issue's magnitude. Hopeful Signs: Maharashtra, Odisha, and Other States Report Zero Vacancies Amidst the challenging landscape, some states have shown positive strides.
