Overview

Anna University is a public state university which is located in the State of Tamil Nadu. It is named after former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister CN Annadurai. Anna University was first established as an architecture department in the year of 1957 that offered a five year Bachelor's degree course in Architecture to the students. During that time, the total intake was just 20 seats. Later, in the year of 1964, the college started its planning program as well. Again in 1986, the college decided to take its educational courses to the next level so they included a higher degree course, namely M. Arch alongside other specialized courses. With a qualified group of faculty members, the college aims to deliver high-level education to the students and shape them into true professionals. The aim of the college lies in strengthening the world of architecture and planning and serving the nation as an inspiring institutional model.

B. Arch

The students will be eligible based on the 10 + 2 examination. Apart from this NATA scorecard is also compulsory to get eligible.

M. Arch

Students should have completed their B. Arch degree from Anna University or any other recognized university in India applying for the M. Arch. Course.

 

Students who have qualified AIIA (Associateship Examination of the Indian Institute of Architects) and possess a valid registration with the Council of Architecture are also eligible.

M. Arch Landscape

Students must have completed their B.Arch degree from Anna University or any other recognized university in India can apply for the M.Arch. Course.

M. Plan

 

Students looking forward to enrolling in the M. Plan program must have obtained a degree examination from Anna University or any other recognized university.

 

Also, they must have at least one degree from B.Plan, B.Arch, or M.Sc/MA with a specialization in sociology, geography, or social work with rural development and community development specialisation.

 

One must be qualified in the Associateship Examination of the Indian Institute of Architects (AIIA) with valid proof of registration to apply for this programme.

Results and cutoffs

Anna University eligibility requirements must be met by students seeking admission to the architectural programme. Apart from having a basic understanding of the subject, one must know what they are applying for and meet the other requirements such as, Candidates must have completed their 10+2 education from a recognized board. Placements

Around 80% of the great students get a placement at the best companies. There are top firms in the industry, such as Samsung, Cisco, Qualcomm, etc., which recruit students from Anna University. The students can get a post of Software Engineer, Head Software Engineer, Design Engineer. The highest package is 20 Lakh Per Annum in the Computer science department while the average package is 7.5 Lakh Per Annum. CUIC also held the campaigns for the placement programme. It is observed that around 200 recruits from all over India and abroad visit Anna University for the placement program.
