The university has different eligibility criteria for various courses offered at the university. For international students whose first language is not English, appearing in an English proficiency test is mandatory, and the students may need to appear for the entrance examination required for their desired course.
For admission to the undergraduate course, students are required to submit the passing certificate of 10+2 and the 10th standard from a recognized board of education. The students’ prior education must be in a similar specialization to the applied course.
Applicants for the master's programs must hold a four-year degree from an institution of higher learning. Any course taken in the final two full years of an undergraduate degree must have an average grade of at least 70% for an applicant to be considered. On the basis of the standards of the discipline or profession, equivalent qualifications will be taken into consideration.
Students must have a master's degree or its equivalent from a university, college, or institute in order to be admitted to the doctoral programs, and they must also demonstrate their potential for research. The master's degree must be earned with a minimum score of at least 70% in order to be considered.

The tuition fee at the university is different for domestic and international students and also varies from course to course. The arts and social science courses will cost around $41,608.25 for an international student for the 2022-23 academic year. The medical science and science courses will cost around $41,633.55 for first year students in the 2022-23 academic year.
The dentistry courses are the most costly at the university because they cost around $130,992.53 for the academic session 2022-23. The engineering courses will cost around $56,572.55 for the academic year 2022-23.
The above mentioned fee details also include health plan, dental plan, transit pass, program specific fees, and others that are required to be paid at the university. The university offers various scholarship schemes for the students pursuing their academic programs at the campus. There are a number of scholarship programs, like Western’s Admission Scholarship Program, the National Scholarship Program, the Schulich Leader Scholarship, the Project Hero Scholarship, the Scholarship for Globally Displaced Students, Western’s International Scholarship Program, and many more.
Students who have exemplary academic records and the potential to significantly contribute both in and outside of the classroom are given the Western International Admission Scholarships. It is a four-year award. First-year recipients of these scholarships will each receive $10,000 CAD, which will be deducted from their tuition costs. In the second, third, and fourth years of study, an additional $5,000 CAD will be deducted from the tuition cost each year.
