Eligibility Criteria

With the most diverse campus population in North America, UBC is one of the top 50 universities in the world. In order to enroll at UBC, a student must first fulfill both the general and degree-specific admission requirements. For enrollment in the various academic levels listed below, international students must meet a few general eligibility requirements.

The students can apply for admission to an undergraduate course. When Standard XII is completed, a Higher Secondary School Certificate is awarded. Official certificates are required. If approved by the principal, head, or counselor of the school, photocopies are acceptable. Copies that have been notarized cannot be used. For Indian students, an average of 85% throughout their academic session is considered for admission.

For admission to the postgraduate courses at the university, students are required to have an undergraduate degree in a similar specialization from a recognized university with better academic records. The students are required to take an English proficiency test to prove their understanding of the language.

A bachelor's degree and a master's degree, or M.Phil., are prerequisites for admission to UBC's doctoral degree program. The majority of institutions typically demand a four-year degree. If the applicant has a 3 year degree with a 1st class/division overall standing and the awarding institutions have received an A from India's National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), then that degree can be used as the basis for admission.

Campus facilities

Both inside and outside of the classroom, UBC is a place that inspires. There are numerous opportunities to pursue your passions or learn something new thanks to the wide variety of recreational, social, and cultural activities available. Life on campus revitalizes the mind, body, and spirit through activities like athletics, the arts, and culture.

The Museum of Anthropology, Nitobe Memorial Garden, and other spots of interest on the campus are the main attractions for new visitors at the university. The campus also promotes art and culture among the students and provides them with the opportunity to follow their love and passion for the arts and make a career out of it.

The university has over 350 student clubs that provide a motive to the like minded peoples to do something big or make a small change in the society which will finally turn around. Like the environment, clubs are generally more important in today's world because the change in the climatic conditions are the things to worry about. These clubs make the students more responsible toward society.

Scholarship

UBC awards more than $30 million a year in awards, scholarships, and other forms of financial assistance to international students in recognition of their outstanding academic achievement. International Major Entrance Scholarships (IMES) are given to deserving foreign students enrolling in undergraduate programs at UBC. IMES are awarded to students as they begin their first year of study at UBC, and they are renewable for up to three more years of study. Depending on the amount of funding available, different numbers and levels of these scholarships are given out each year.

For international students with strong academic credentials but insufficient English language skills for direct admission to UBC, there is the Vantage One program. When qualified applicants are offered admission to UBC, they are given a one-time merit-based entrance scholarship known as the Outstanding International Student (OIS) Award. Students who are chosen for this award exhibit strong academic performance as well as extracurricular engagement.
