Overview

One of the oldest and most prestigious universities in the country is Princeton. It was established in 1746 and transferred to its current location in New Jersey in 1896. Eligibility Criteria

The university offers admission to students from every corner of the world, and as a result, more than 40% of the students enrolled in the university are from foreign countries. This university offers equal chances for each student to get selected.

For admission to the undergraduate courses the students are required to pass their 10+2 examination from a recognized board of education with good marks. The university has mentioned that they don’t require any entrance examination scorecards for the 2022-23 academic year, but the choice is still on the students if they want to participate in the entrance exams like the SAT or ACT.

For admission to the postgraduate programs, the students are required to have their undergraduate degree in a similar specialization from a recognized university with good academic records. For doctoral courses, the students should have completed their postgraduate degree in a similar specialization from a recognized university. 

All the students from India (if their previous institute is not English Medium) should appear in one of the English proficiency tests like the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), the International English Language Testing System Academic (IELTS Academic), or the Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic).

Admission

The applicants need to follow the given procedure to get admission at the university for their desired courses.

  • All the applicants are advised to apply through common application (http://www.commonapp.org/).
  • The candidates first need to register on the above mentioned website and fill in the application form with all the required details.
  • The candidates are required to provide the transcript, school report, counselor recommendation, two teacher recommendations, and midyear school report.
  • The university is not asking for any standardized tests score like the SAT and ACT for the academic session 2022-23.
  • The students are required to appear in an English proficiency test.
  • After providing all these details the students can finally submit their application form with an application fee.
  • The students need to fill in Princeton‘s Supplement form along with the main application form.
  • The candidates have to submit a graded written paper for their evaluation for the admission.
  • The admission committee at the university reviews all the application forms and picks the best suitable students for the admission to the university.

The cost of attendance for the graduate course is slightly higher than the undergraduate course and is estimated to be around $94705.

The campus of the university is located in the city of Princeton, New Jersey, United States, and is spread over an area of 500 acres. It has all the facilities needed for the students to excel in both their academic and professional careers. At Princeton, there are numerous opportunities for physical activity and recreation. Students have access to swimming pools, dance studios, fitness equipment, and classes in addition to intramural and club sports at Dillon Gymnasium and Stephens Fitness Center.

The small, residential community for undergraduate and graduate students at Princeton is one of its distinguishing features. 70% of graduate students and almost all undergraduates at the university reside on the lovely campus, which fosters a friendly atmosphere for residence, learning, and unwinding.

One of the biggest and most prosperous athletic programs in the Ivy League and NCAA Division I belongs to Princeton. With 37 varsity men's and women's teams, varsity sports are played by about 18% of undergraduates.

Scholarship

The students are eligible for the financial assistance on the basis of their need as there is no criteria to provide scholarship and financial aid on the academic and athletic merits. 

For the undergraduate students, the university offers up to 100% scholarship that assists them to complete their academic courses. The scholarships are given based on the parents' ability to pay the fees for their children.

For the the postgraduate and doctoral students the university offers financial aid of $40000 to $45000 in the name of University Fellowship (12 months), First Year Fellowship in Natural Sciences and Engineering (10 months), Assistantship in Research (10 months), and Assistantship in Instruction (10 months).
