Eligibility Criteria

The university has a total of 12 colleges and schools, and all of them offer education in different disciplines and require different eligibility criteria for different courses at different academic levels. Some of the general eligibility criteria that are applicable at different academic levels at each school and college are mentioned below.

The university offers admission to the undergraduate courses on the basis of their previous year's academic performance, and the students are required to pass the 10+2 examination from a recognized board of education and should have the best academic record throughout their previous education.

For admission to postgraduate courses, students are required to have taken an undergraduate course in a similar specialization from a recognized university. For admission to the doctoral courses, students are required to have postgraduate courses in a similar specialization from a recognized university with a good academic record. The students are required to appear in an entrance examination or a written test to prove their eligibility for the desired courses. Students from India are required to appear in an English proficiency test that is accepted by the university.

Admission

The candidates are required to follow the given procedure to complete their application process and gain admission to the university for their desired courses.

  • The university offers admission to different kinds of applicants such as Early Decision, Regular Decision, QuestBridge and Transfer.
  • All these applicants can apply for the admission through Common Application or Apply Coalition with Scoir.
  • The candidates need to register themselves on the above mentioned gateways.

  • The SAT and ACT scores are optional for 2022-23 academic year but the applicants are required to appear in the examination to improve their chances of selection.
  • The applicants from non-English speaking countries have to appear in one of the English proficiency tests to prove their understanding of language.
  • The applicants have to pay $75 as an application fee to submit their application forms.
  • The application form is received by the admission committee at the university and they review all the application forms and select the desirable candidates for each academic course.
  • The acceptance rate at the university is 7%, so the applicants should have the best academic records to get final selection.

Fees

The cost of attendance is an estimation of what students will spend while attending Northwestern. An MBA is the most costly graduate course at the university, as the cost of attendance is $195953 for the academic year 2022-23. The cost may vary depending on the lifestyle and other expenses of the students.

Campus facilities

The main campus of the university acquires 240 acres of beautiful land filled with a variety of trees, grasses, and flowers that offer suitable environments for the students to complete their academic process at the university. The campus also offers facilities like music, theater, and dance; virtual arts and film; athletics and recreation;  library, housing, dining, and many more. 

Numerous performances feature the talents of Bienen School of Music students, faculty, and guest performers. Travel to the campus's Arts Circle to see the brand-new Ryan Center for the Musical Arts. The campus offers top-notch acting, musical theater, dance, and performance studies programs, and the School of Communication instructs students on how to hone their performance abilities. Observe them as they practice for year-round performances.

Students may watch movies in the auditorium, print study center, or galleries of the Mary and Leigh Block Museum of Art. In addition to studying the theory, practice, and history of art and media, students also curate the Dittmar Gallery.

Northwestern has 19 varsity sports that are fiercely competitive and is a founding member of the Big Ten Conference. You don't have to compete on the varsity level to be a student athlete thanks to the abundance of intramural and club sports, as well as the numerous athletics and fitness facilities spread throughout campus.

Scholarship

The university offers financial assistance to the students for their higher education at the university with scholarship schemes, education loan or debt, merit based scholarship, financial need scholarship, and various other schemes.
