Since the institution's founding, it has grown to a total area of about 2,300 acres, including the hill and much of the neighborhood. Nearly all of the academic buildings, athletic facilities, auditoriums, and museums on campus are located on Central Campus, along with the administrative and laboratory buildings.

The motto of the university is “Something for Everyone."  It shows the vision of the university to excel in every field of academics as well as their emphasis on athletics, arts, culture, and various other things that keep the students engaged throughout their academic session and provide them an opportunity to pursue their passion in a professional way.

The campus and its surroundings offer a never-ending supply of indoor and outdoor activities throughout the year, from NCAA Division I athletics and intramural leagues to the Cornell Botanic Gardens and scenic overlooks.
