The SAT is an entrance examination for undergraduate courses in the universities of the United States of America and Canada. The entrance examination is conducted by a private, non-profit organization in the USA named the College Board. Its name changed from Scholastic Aptitude Test to Scholastic Assessment Test, then to SAT I: Reasoning Test, SAT Reasoning Test, and finally to just the SAT. High school students who are attempting to gain admission to foreign universities take the SAT exam. For undergraduate admissions from international students, the majority of US, Canadian, UK, Italian, and a few Australian universities accept SAT scores. In some circumstances, students may be given the option of submitting a SAT or ACT score for admission, or they may even be exempt from doing so. The SAT exam pattern is very different from the ACT, and due to recent changes, the SAT exam's time limit has also been shortened.
The College Board has not established any specific age requirements for taking the SAT exam. However, because the SAT is required for admission to undergraduate programs, applicants are advised to take the test either in the final months of classes XI and XII or right after they graduate from high school. Students typically take the SAT after deciding to apply to foreign universities for undergrad programs. So, the answer is that a student can take the SAT exam after class XII. That sums up the final SAT Exam Eligibility.
The SAT Exam registration fee in India, which is USD 60, is added to the international registration fee (digital), which is USD 43, to determine the price of taking the SAT exam in India. The total cost is US$103, which is roughly equivalent to INR 8,428 in Indian rupees. Indian students will therefore be required to pay this sum only online using either PayPal or credit cards from Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, or JCB. Only in cases where students have a waiver code for the SAT exam is the SAT exam fee amount reduced by 5–10%.
No, starting in 2023, the SAT Subject Tests will no longer be offered, with the introduction of the Digital SAT for students from abroad. However, because the US is still administering the SAT exam on paper with the intention of switching to digital administration in 2024, students who are taking the SAT in the US are still eligible to take the SAT Subject Test. Therefore, the only exam given to international students outside of the US at the moment is the SAT Digital, which has two major sections on Reading, Writing, and Math. SAT Exam Syllabus for Indian students are same as for other countries.
After the day on which your SAT Exam results are announced, the SAT score is valid for a period of five years. If you want CollegeBoard to formally share your SAT scores with each university you are applying to within that time frame, you might have to pay an additional fee.
