About City

Ahmedabad is a city where old and new exist side by side. Founded in 1411, it has a history of more than six centuries, visible in its old neighbourhoods, architecture, markets, places of worship and everyday culture. In 2017, it became India’s first UNESCO World Heritage City. But Ahmedabad is not only a city of the past. It has grown into an important centre for business, manufacturing, education, finance and entrepreneurship. The city has a strong base of established businesses while also making space for startups, new ideas and young entrepreneurs. With institutions such as IIM Ahmedabad, a growing startup ecosystem and the wider Ahmedabad–Gandhinagar business corridor, students are surrounded by opportunities to learn beyond their classrooms. For someone coming to Ahmedabad for higher education, understanding the city can add another dimension to the experience. The people, businesses, industries and culture around them can shape how they see the world of work. Students at Narayana Business School come from different parts of India, bringing with them different experiences and perspectives. Ahmedabad gives them a common place to explore, learn and grow. Over two years, the city can become more than just the place where they attend college. It can become a place where they build connections, discover opportunities, understand how businesses work, experience a different culture and perhaps even find the direction they want to take their careers. This is what makes Ahmedabad an interesting city for a student, its history gives it character, while its businesses, institutions and growing opportunities keep it moving forward.
