UPSC IFS Mains Exam 2022 is to Start from 20th Nov, Know Exam Pattern, Syllabus, and Timeline

UPSC IFS Mains Exam 2022: The Indian Forest Service (IFS – Main) Examination 2022, which will be held by the Union Public Service Commission from November 20 to November 27, will be used to select candidates for 151 open positions. The UPSC IFS Prelims 2022 was successfully conducted on 5th June 2022. The IFS Mains Examination (written and interview) will be held for candidates who pass the preliminary examination.

Candidates can pass their UPSC IFS Mains on their first attempt with the help of the proper study plan and insider tips and tricks. Shortlisted candidates for the personality test/interview round will be those whose performance in the IFS Mains exam will be deemed qualified. Therefore, in order to advance in the hiring process, you must receive the minimum required marks in the main exam. IFS Mains exam success is not easy, though, as there is fierce competition for a small number of open positions.

Exam Pattern of UPSC IFS Mains Exam 2022

Before beginning their exam preparation, candidates must review the UPSC IFS Mains exam pattern. They will benefit from having a more accurate understanding of the paper format, possible scores, the number of sections, and the scoring system used by the commission. The details of the UPSC IFS Mains exam format are mentioned below.

  • There are six papers in the Written Mains exam.
  • The traditional (essay) question type will be used for all of the main examination questions.
  • Only English will be used as the medium for the exam questions.
  • It will take three hours to complete each paper.

There are a total of six papers that include General English, and General Knowledge, two papers of optional subject 1, and two papers of optional subject 2. The general papers will contain 300 marks each, and the optional subjects will be 200 marks each. Adding them all up, the exam is 1400 marks.
